RAHUL SINGH FOR REGINA NORTH-EAST

Rahul Singh for Regina North - East

Like many of us in Regina-Northeast, I’m a new Canadian. I’ve faced all the challenges that come with that, but I have also seized all the opportunities that this great country provides. Now, I want to give back even more to the community. I come from humble beginnings and deeply respect my late parents. After finishing my Bachelor's in English in New Delhi, I moved to Canada to continue my education. I started with zero and eventually was able to get several advanced degrees in British Columbia. I have obtained my MBA in finance and MSc in International Business, making it to the Dean's Honor's list in the University, as well as my Canadian Mutual Funds Certificate (CIFC). I am currently working towards obtaining my Professional Project Management Certification (PMP).

MY HOBBIES

I’m a fitness enthusiast. Before entering the world of entrepreneurship and service, I was a yoga instructor and a personal trainer. Although I’m busier now, I still stay active. My favourite activities are hiking, kayaking, tennis, squash and volleyball. I also love to travel to different countries. Above all else, I focus on spending time with my lovely wife and two beautiful girls, who are 1 and 5 years old.

MY WORK

I am, at heart, an entrepreneur. I have been involved in developing multiple successful businesses. Before that, I worked at management level for several major corporations such as Coca-Cola, Shoppers Drug Mart and Home Depot. I am currently working as a Territory Manager with a major oil company. In addition, I look after businesses and gas stations across Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

MY SERVICE

I am grateful for every opportunity this country has given me. I try to show that gratitude through service to the community. I was actively involved with student affairs during my time in the university and was part of my college’s student union. I have been actively involved in local community programs. These range from being a food bank volunteer and donor, a highway cleaning volunteer, and sponsoring education and living expenses for under-privileged children. I’m also a human rights advocate and work to promote this whenever possible. my wife, Yashu also joins in on volunteer activities. She works closely with many local women’s programs in Regina.

TIME TO GIVE BACK

Saskatchewan is a rich province, yet when I look around Regina-Northeast and I see many neighborhoods that struggle with development and other challenges. I want to be able to give back even more and provide my experience to give strong representation for this constituency. No matter what, I will be a voice for the people and work towards a more prosperous future for all.
